Requirements

The Commandery Merit Award is Defined in Art. 344 of the Statutes and Regulations of the Grand Commandery which must be earned before the Commander or Recorder can receive their respective Distinguished Service Medals, Art. 345 and 346.

A Commandery will qualify for a Certificate of Merit if it fulfills the following requirements:

1. Open and close accoridng to the prescribed Asylum Tactics and confer the Order of the Temple with a minimun score of 750 on Inspection.

2. Must hold at least 6 stated Conclaves and four Special Conclaves for drill in Asylum tactics during the year.

3. Shall observe the Christmas, Easter, Ascension, and Patriotic services with appropriate ceremonies.

4. The membership of the Commandery to show a net gain for the year, excluding deaths.

Special: A Commandery may also qualify for a Certificate of Merit by a combination of 10 or more of the following; Knightings, Reinstatements, Affiliations. If you have 10 of the above you do not have to show a net gain.

5. Commandery must make the annual report and pay its dues and fees to the Grand Commandery by the date required in the Constitution and Laws.

6. In the event of a merger, only the record of the surviving Commandery needs to be considered for a net gain.
