08/12/2017District Two Schools of Instruction and Conclave

Ascension Commandery #25, 323 West Front St., Tyler, Texas 75702
Time: Registration at 8:00 a.m., School commencing at 9:00 a.m.
Contact: Doye Sudduth, Recorder, dsudduth@arkassurance.com

Donations will be accepted to offset the cost of any meals. Please assist each of these commanderies by notifying their Recorder, listed above, of the number of Sir Knights you expect from your Commandery.

The officers of the host Commandery will demonstrate the Opening and the Order of the Temple. Dress for the school will be casual, but please bring your chapeau, sword, and belt in case you are called into service. Come prepared to ask questions.

Remember, Commanders and Recorders must attend a School of Instruction to qualify for their Merit Award. Please review Chapter 56, Articles 344, 345 and 346 of the Statutes and Regulations of this Grand Commandery as well as Article 113 (which states that “…it shall be the duty of all officers of each Commandery situated in such District to attend…”) and plan to attend this School of Instruction. I encourage as many of your members to attend as well. Eminent Commanders, please be reminded that it is your duty to see that all of your officers are present.

I will also call upon the District Committeemen to address the Sir Knights present with information pertaining to their Committees. I encourage all Sir Knights to attend to learn about what our Grand Commandery is working on through the Committees.

At the School, we will set the dates for the Templar District Two official visitations. If you would like to confirm your date now, please let me know. Otherwise, I request that you have a representative of your Commandery with the authority to make this decision on behalf of your Commandery present to go over the scheduling of your visitation.

Again, I am honored to represent our Right Eminent Grand Commander in Templar District Two this year. I will do all in my ability to serve him and all the Sir Knights throughout this Templar year. If I can be of any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to a great year!

08/12/2017School of Instruction – Templar District One

The District School of Instruction will be held on Saturday August 12, 2017, in the asylum of Alexander C. Garrett Commandery No. 103, located at 4912 S. Buckner Dr., Dallas, Texas 75227-2001. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the school will commence at 9:00 a.m., and end at 2:00 p.m. Dress is casual, but bring your sword, belt and chapeaux. We will review the new Alternate 9 Sir Knight Opening, full Opening (time permitting), Closing, and the Order of the Temple. Please come prepared to participate, as volunteers will be needed to fill some stations.

Alexander C. Garrett Commandery has agreed to provide us with refreshments for the School. Please assist them by notifying their Recorder, Sir Knight Daniel Hill, at (972) 492-4245, of the number from your Commandery you expect to attend so adequate preparation can be made. Further, please come prepared to schedule your annual visitation so that each Commandery can have as much advance notice as possible.

Eminent Commanders and Recorders, please remember that attending a district school of instruction is required for you to qualify for the Merit Award. This is in addition to meeting all other requirements set forth in Chapter 56, Articles 344, 345, and 346 of the Statutes and Regulations of this Grand Commandery. Also, as provided by Article 113, it is the duty of all Officers of each Commandery to attend a School of Instruction. Of course, all members are encouraged to attend.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by phone at (903) 816-9259, or email at cjvision2020@zoho.com. If I am not available when you call, please leave a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.
